How do I become a member?

Just fill the sign-up form and make the payment! That’s it!

How can I order a book?

Once you get the username and password, visit www.vijosbooksbarn.com, click on "Browse Catalogue" tab. You will be redirected to our library page. Login with the credentials. You can search the books of your choice, based on book title, author or publisher. Click on the book you wish to read and you will see the “Add hold” option (only if you have logged in). Place the hold; if you want to choose more books, search for them and place the hold for all the books you need. These books will be moved to the “Complete” queue and will be visible at the bottom of the page, select “complete” and then click on “submit” to place your request and we will assign them for you on a priority basis. In case you need any help in blocking a book, contact us and we will help you anytime.

How do I make a Payment?

You can make the payment through any one of the following methods; Cash / Net banking / Paytm / UPI

How do I find a book?

The easiest way to find a book is to use the search option available at the top of the page. You can search based on a title or author or keywords. We have added tags to the books so that it is easy for the members to search for a book.

What if I want to recommend a book, which I don’t find in your library?

You can write to us at admin@vijosbooksbarn.com or submit your request in the Contact-Us section with the title and author details. We will consolidate such entries and update our collection.

Will I be notified on New Arrivals?

We will post the titles on the home page of our website. The same will also be added to the Feeds Section which can be seen at the right side, in our library site (https://vijosbooksbarn.libib.com).

What if I need some help in choosing a book or I am a newbie willing to inculcate the reading habit to my child?

We will be glad to assist you in selecting the books of your choice. Feel free to ask us anytime and we will guide you.

How can I intimate that I have completed reading the books?

We make it very simple. Communicate to us through email or WhatsApp and we’ll collect it back from you.

What should I do if I have placed a hold on a book, but wanted to release it?

You can release the hold by yourself. Click on the “Patron Page” button on the left side of your home screen, it will navigate to your patron page. Click on the “account overview” tab on the top of the page and you can see the “Current holds” that you have placed along with the “Release Hold” option. You can use the same and release the holds for whichever book you wish to do.

Can I authorize someone to collect the books on my behalf?

Yes, please inform us about who will collect the books. But, books will be delivered only at the registered delivery address.

What if the books get damaged/lost?

We expect each member to take good care of the books and educate your children to do the same. Please make sure that books are not soiled by food particles, water spilled, torn, ripped or scribbled. The condition of each book is recorded in our system. We would also request you to keep the books safe. However, in case of any damage or loss of book as a result of member misuse, we will charge you for the cost of replacing the book, which includes the book price and the lamination cost. However, if we determine that a book was damaged during transit, ViJosBooksBarn will not charge you for the damage.

Are there any due dates or late fees?

We propose a reasonable reading period of 15 days. However a member can request for a renewal of one more week in case if you haven’t completed reading the book. Renewal Request can be made through email or WhatsApp or over the phone and we will extend the dates accordingly in the system. Still, we would request you to return the books on time so that the books are available for the rest of the members too.

If a member doesn’t return a book beyond their reading period a late fee charge of Rs.2 per day will be deducted from their caution deposit.

Can I also buy a book?

Yes, depending upon the availability, we will get a fresh copy for you. Please reach out to us with the Title you are interested and we will share the price and the shipping charges.
